My name is George Brown and I am married with three kids 8,6 and 3. In November of '06, my wife and I decided it was necessary for us to move out of the Mt. Washington school district and into Anderson. We selected Jason Kraus as our Realtor because he represents the total package when it comes to trying to buy and sell in today's market. Jason sold our house and we closed on it within 8 weeks.
No longer is it wise to select an agent simply because you work with her husband and she just got her real estate license. No longer can you afford to go with an agent solely because they work for a particular company like Comey & Shephard or Remax. The agent needs to bring more value to the process and a more meaningful point of difference over other agents. With the advent of MLS, the primary job of an agent has been replaced by the computer(listings). Therefore, select an agent on what they bring above and beyond showing you houses.
We chose Jason Kraus not only because he has the ability to tell us what we need to do in order to get our house ready for the market, but also because he and his crew could actually do the work. Having an agent "invested" in the process is to your advantage. Also, Jason is able to look at new homes with a discerning eye. It is like having a home inspector take you to look at houses. He can point out flaws that are hidden that tell you to stay away and he can assuage your fears that a crack in the ceiling can be easily fixed.
My experience was excellent. Having a "Mr. Fix it "capable of adding a banister to your stairs as easily as remodeling your basement as your Realtor is like looking to buy a used car with a trusted mechanic. Not only can he fix up the dents in your car to maximize the trade in, but he can steer you toward the right one to buy.

I can't even begin to tell you how much your generosity means to me.
I was appreciative that you were even willing to help out "at cost" to save Laura from having to move my things from my storage unit in Dayton. And I understand I had it packed so tight, there wasn't an inch to spare (thus the additional truck your guys had to rent).
